Collection: SAINT GEORGE STAINES
Staines was born and raised in Hull, East Yorkshire, where he originally worked at a Sainsburys grocery store before transitioning fully into MMA. He compiled a stellar 16-1 amateur record, becoming a 4-time British champion and capturing gold at the 2022 IMMAF European Championships, followed by a silver medal at the 2022 IMMAF World Championships in Belgrade.
Professional Career
Staines made his professional debut in August 2023. He quickly generated buzz across major European regional promotions:
- OKTAGON MMA: He won the OKTAGON Challenge: England vs. Ireland reality show tournament and went 4-0 under the promotion.
- Cage Warriors: Staines signed with Cage Warriors in 2025, continuing his unbeaten streak with marquee wins, including a second-round rear-naked choke submission over Conor McCarthy at Cage Warriors 207.
UFC Breakthrough
On September 29, 2026, Staines competed on Week 8 of Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) Season 10. Facing Loai Abushaar, Staines secured a spectacular 61-second slam knockout victory. The performance was praised by Dana White as one of the best finishes he had ever seen on the show, earning Staines an official UFC contract and making him the first fighter from Hull to reach the promotion.
